• LovelySweetWilliam - Etsy Interview

Friday, February 5, 2010

I recently came across the shop lovelysweetwilliam while searching for Valentine's Day items on etsy. I found some beautiful love themed illustrations there, as well as a variety of unique art prints, dolls and paper goods from these 3 talented ladies.

Please tell us a little bit about yourself:
We (Sweet William is made up of sisters Shelley and Paula and sister-in-law Jeanine) are originally from South Africa, we all moved to new countries, Australia and New Zealand - and wanted to connect creatively despite the pressures of everyday life and so decided to pool our passions and start a collaborative, crafting project called Sweet William in June 2008.

and the items you sell in your shop:
We design and make our own cushions, brooches, prints, hand made cards, craft packs, stationary, softies, bags, necklaces and more! We try and keep our products unique by incorporating our very own original artwork.

What is your current favorite item from your shop?
The little mini Camille in her house – she is quirky, unique and 100% handmade.

Where do you get your inspiration?
We draw inspiration from all over the place - motherhood, markets, magazines, blogs, film, music, art, design, nature, colour, pattern, etc but we do have a thing for the past, especially old children's books and vintage fabrics. We all get a kick out of op shopping and are mad for any market any where! We inspire each other, share knowledge, and encourage each other to try new things.
